Welcome to the Winner’s Circle!

Delta Gamma is going back to back! Sigma Chi held their annual philanthropy event called Derby Days this April. Every sorority on campus is invited to compete in several challenges to fundraise money for the Alabama Children’s Miracle Network. The sorority that wins the most events and has the highest cumulative total will receive bragging rights and… $1,000 towards their philanthropy. This year, Delta Gamma was the only sorority to place in EVERY Derby Days competition! In the end, our hard work payed off as DG won FIRST PLACE and was awarded $1,000 for Service for Sight!

Senior Send Off

As our 2016-2017 year came to a close, we had to say tons of hard goodbyes to the women who have so greatly shaped and impacted our chapter. In our transition ceremony, our seniors spoke about their best memories in our sisterhood and what Delta Gamma truly means to them. They announced their “senior wills” and passed down sacred, memorable items to younger sisters. We are so proud of our seniors for their hard work and dedication. Our sisters will be moving to locations all throughout the world and taking on their dream jobs with the strongest support system of sisters located in the heart of dixie.

Song of the South

The best date party of the year is our last! Delta Gammas and their dates dressed up in country-themed costumes and danced the night away to a live country band at a local Tuscaloosa venue. Our sisters and their guests sang “Sweet Home Alabama” on the top of their lungs all night long as the end of the year came quickly after our amazing date party. Shout out to our social events team for making this year’s annual Song of the South unforgettable!

Lake Day!

If your sisters jumped off of a cliff would you?! Well… In this case, yes! Our sisters loaded up in cars and headed to Lake Nicol to enjoy the beautiful Alabama weather in the best way possible. Some girls tanned, others floated in the lake, and majority took a leap of faith off the cliffs. With DG sisters, anything is possible.

Claire DeVoe

Major: Fashion Retailing w/ a minor in General Business
Year: Sophomore
Hobby/ Passion: Passion for fashion!! Love putting together new creative outfits! I have a huge love for all things music. I love to sing, play my guitar, dance, and perform in musical theatre! Any time you see me I’m probably either singing a tune or moving my feet to the beat!
Career Aspirations: I aspire to open up my own boutique, “Claire’s Closet” after first developing this idea in my senior year of high school! I dream of creating a new take on the shopping experience!
Accomplishments Thus Far: I’ve loved every part of UA so far! My freshman year was so amazing and I’m so blessed with all the opportunities that have come my way. Delta Gamma has been such a lovely part of my life. I’m honored to serve as our Director of Fundraising and love creating new ideas for raising awareness for Service for Sight! I work diligently in my studies and I am very involved in the Honors College! I’m also so proud to say that I made the President’s list first semester and the Dean’s List for the second semester! I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of UADM and being a member on First Year Committee! I can’t wait to become even more involved on campus and in my amazing sisterhood, Delta Gamma!

Fun fact: I’m working on my business, Claire’s Closet currently on Instagram and in my own home, as I turn my living room into a store! It has been the perfect outlet for me to share new ideas for outfits and be able to have creative sales for girls to feel beautiful and confident in unique looks! My business-to be is so special to me and it is so heartwarming to take a percentage of my sales and donate to the cancer floor that took great care of my Grams who inspires me everyday to go after my dreams of opening my shop.

Smooth Sailing- Alumni Spotlight

Becky Black

Following our alumni transition, our seniors officially became alumni of Delta Gamma. In honor of their graduation, here is one of our chapter’s newest alumni, Becky Black! Becky was the Beta Psi chapter president for the 2016-2017 year. Her passions consist of dance and Orange Theory fitness! In the future, Becky hopes to be the head of a dance program. With this dream in mind, our sister is headed to England for great school. Becky continues to “do good” by volunteering at a local dance studio. We can’t wait to see you achieve your dreams!
