ANCHORED WITH THE BEST
Welcome home to all of our beautiful new members! On August 19th, the University of Alabama, Beta Psi chapter offered bids to 144 incredible women to join our sisterhood. In our new pledge class, we have women from all across the country with educational interests ranging from pre-med students to dance majors to public relations professionals to future lawyers! During the bid day celebration, we hosted sisters and their families at our home with food and popsicles from Steel City Pops. We could not be any happier to see how new member wearing our Delta Gamma letters with grace and pride!
UNDER THE SEA WITH DELTA G!
As a tradition, a few hours after bid day all of the new members go on a surprise retreat. Girls loaded up on charter buses and headed over to Georgia for this special event. This year, new members went to the Atlanta Aquarium and slept under water! Literally! Our sisters were able to get to know one another, see shows at the venue, play games and have a big sleepover on their first night.
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!
The University of Alabama always has the largest and longest recruitment in the nation. In order to prepare to host over 2,500 potential new members (PNMs) in our home, our recruitment team trained our chapter during work week. We had several themes throughout the week to make the training sessions more fun! In the end, recruitment was a complete success and was executed with ease and efficiency. We are so proud of the hard work our sophomores, juniors and seniors did to have the most successful rush so far.
SUMMER SISTERHOOD SPOTLIGHTS
From internships to travel to volunteering to achieving their wildest dreams, our sisters have spent their summers working hard and having fun around the world. In order to highlight the amazing work our sisters have been doing on a global scale, our chapter developed a Facebook album called “Summer Sisterhood Spotlights” that you can find by clicking on this link! Here are a few sisters that pursued their passion and changed the world this summer.
Taylor Williams was selected to be a part of an international fashion program abroad this summer. She visited the top fashion capitals of the world over 5 weeks.
Julia Baker dedicated her summer to helping others in need in Haiti. She truly encompasses what it means to “do good.” Thank you for inspiring all of us, Julia!
Kelly Fator spent her summer in the city of angels! Kelly is a summer intern at Sony/ ATV Music Publishing. She was even on-set for the production of Ghostbusters! During her summer nights, she worked as a production intern for Jimmy Kimmel!
Does Terrin Wack‘s name sound familiar? It is probably because she wrote the front page story for the Chicago Tribune this summer! During her internship, she has also covered events, such as Cubs games, Bears’ minicamps, NHL Draft, NBA Draft and more.
