JANUARY 2018

BAMA WINS…AGAIN!

University of Alabama students everywhere rejoiced as the Crimson Tide took home its 17th National Championship in college football! Our sisters were no exception. Sisters donned our game day best and headed to New Orleans, Atlanta and Tuscaloosa for the Sugar Bowl and the National Championship game. We braved the cold weather (we’re not used to it in Alabama) to cheer on our team to victory! One thing is for sure, DG loves the Tide!

FORMAL FUN!

Delta Gamma hosted our annual formal, Anchor Ball, this month! All our sisters and their dates were dressed to the nines. We took over the dance floor (well, three floors) at Glorybound and danced the night away! The party was accompanied by a DJ upstairs and a live band downstairs. We didn’t want the night to end. It was definitely a night to remember!

SISTERHOOD SPOTLIGHTS!

MADELINE SALATHE

Year: Junior

Major: Operation Management

Minor: Computer Science

Involvement in Delta Gamma: Greek Week & Homecoming dance competitions, Co-Pref chair

Campus Involvement: I have been a part of the University of Alabama dance team for the last 3 years. Dancing is always something I have loved to do and I am glad that I get to dance for the best school in the country.

Recent Accomplishments: I recently accepted a summer internship with DST health solutions. I also just competed in the UDA national dance competition. In which we advanced to the finals and placed seventh. We have not made it to the final round in hip-hop since 2010.

Favorite DG Memory: My favorite DG memory is going to Basement with Becky with my big and twin and dancing.

Fun Fact: I love to travel!

IZZY QUINN

Year: Sophomore

Major: Journalism & Creative Media (Media Production)

Specialization: Addiction & Recovery

Involvement in Delta Gamma: Director of Health & Wellness, video committee, a capella, anchor splash coach, softball/soccer

Campus Involvement: On campus I am most involved with Bama Hillel. I love being part of an organization that gives me another “second home” outside of DG and allows me to find a smaller Jewish community while I’m so far from home!

Recent Accomplishments: Over the past year and a half, I’ve lectured in multiple human development classes to raise awareness about eating disorders and help students who want to work in the addiction recovery field learn more about how to help them.

Favorite DG Memory: My favorite DG memory was our trip to six flags last year! Because I was a freshman and didn’t know many people, it was a great way to get to know a ton of my sisters and create lasting memories while getting to go to the amusement park for the first time!

Fun Fact: I’ve done musical theater since I was a little girl, being cast in more than 15 shows in a span of 5 years! Something else that people may not know is that I have a YouTube channel that I’ve been working on and off on since freshman year of high school; it’s small but definitely helps me with the editing and filming aspect of my major.

LINDSAY DOUGLAS

Year: Senior

Major: Accounting

Minor/Specialization: Computer Technology & Application/ Professional Accounting

Involvement in Delta Gamma: Panhellenic Delegate, basketball, flag football

Campus Involvement: I have served as a class leader for the Culverhouse LIFT program, Sigma Rho Chi, Director of Finance for the SGA Homecoming Executive Board, member of Beta Alpha Psi, and other various roles within SGA. I have loved getting to be involved in multiple areas across campus over my four years, and I would not be the person I am today or have the great friends I have without these roles!

Recent Accomplishments: I am currently completing a spring internship with Ernst & Young in Atlanta, working in financial services assurance.

Favorite DG Memory: Living in the DG house the past two years! I have made so many new friends I wouldn’t have had the chance to have become so close with other wise.

Fun Fact: I have been on 2 different across-the-country road trips.

ALLISON GAIER

Year: Freshman

Campus Involvement: Member of Freshman Forum and B+ Foundation! My involvement in these two organizations has changed me into a better person.

Recent Accomplishments: I’ve made it to all my 8 a.m. classes this semester!

Favorite DG Memory: My favorite DG memory so far is probably the Bid Day Retreat because I got to meet a lot of my new DG sisters and I was finally stress-free from Rush Week.

Fun Fact: I love to make people laugh and I will talk to literally anybody (this always makes my mom nervous LOL).
